This course will explain how Visual Basic differs from traditional programming, and will show you how to use Visual Basic to build working applications.

Who Should Attend

    This course is geared for application developers. It is also useful for managers and other computer professionals who want both a conceptual and a hands-on appreciation of what it takes to build programs with a graphical user interface.

Prerequisites

    Basic programming concepts (such as variables, control flow, subroutines), and experience with any high-level programming language.

What you will learn

    This course covers the essential Visual Basic development tools, user interface objects, object properties, procedures, and language elements. The course is organized around a series of application development projects. After this course, you will be able to:

  • Create an application user interface consisting of Forms and Controls
  • Attach code to Forms and Controls to make them responsive to user activity
  • Add additional code if necessary to create fully functional applications
  • Test and refine applications using debugging tools.
  • Package the applications into a stand-alone program that can function outside of the Visual Basic development environment
